Closing Support Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Closing Support Teacher, you will work closely with the classroom team to ensure that all children receive a nurturing, high-quality educational experience. You will support classroom routines, manage end-of-day transitions, and assist with the physical and emotional needs of the children.

• Assist the lead teacher in the delivery of the Balanced Learning® curriculum.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development during the closing hours of the day.
• Create a calm and nurturing environment to help children transition from active play to end-of-day routines.
• Supervise and engage children in developmentally appropriate activities.
• Help with classroom cleanup, organization, and preparation for the following day.
• Ensure that safety standards are met and children are supervised at all times.
• Communicate effectively with parents during pick-up times.
• Collaborate with the classroom team and leadership to maintain a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education degree or coursework preferred.
• Prior experience working with young children in an early childhood or childcare setting.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Ability to work closing shifts (typically from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with children, parents, and team members.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and engage in classroom activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or other early childhood education certifications.
• Experience working with the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum or similar structured early education programs.
• Familiarity with classroom management strategies and child development principles.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.
