Role and Responsibilities:

As a Behavioral Specialist Teacher, you will develop and deliver tailored instruction that supports both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. You will help maintain a structured and engaging classroom setting while working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure students make consistent progress.

Develop and carry out Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on each student’s specific learning needs
Prepare and teach lessons using a range of instructional approaches to keep students actively involved
Maintain an organized classroom environment that supports safety, routine, and positive behavior
Track and evaluate student progress while completing all necessary documentation and reports
Lead and assist classroom staff to ensure student plans are followed consistently

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree with a valid Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification
At least three months of experience supporting individuals with disabilities
Knowledge of child development, differentiated instruction methods, and behavior management strategies
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to guide classroom activities and work collaboratively within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with students with autism or emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs
Understanding of therapeutic approaches used within educational settings
Additional certifications or training related to behavior support or social-emotional learning
