Role and Responsibilities:

As a Learning Disabilities Teacher, your role will be centered around providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. You will be responsible for the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and ensuring that each student’s progress is carefully monitored and aligned with their specific learning goals. Collaboration with fellow educators and families will be key to ensuring the best possible outcomes for students.

Provide instruction and support tailored to each student's IEP
Develop and execute lesson plans customized to meet individual student needs
Monitor and document student progress toward meeting IEP goals
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress assessments
Maintain an inclusive classroom environment that fosters self-confidence and independence in students

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education endorsement
Preferred experience in supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with co-teaching or team-based instructional methods
Familiarity with evidence-based teaching strategies for diverse learners
Experience in developing and tracking IEPs, as well as utilizing IEP management tools

Compensation and Benefits:

$50.00 per hour for full-time employment during the 2025-2026 academic year
