Role and Responsibilities:

As a Head Teacher, you will nurture children’s development, provide guidance to teaching staff, and maintain a safe, supportive classroom setting. You will collaborate with families, team members, and community partners to help every child reach their full potential.

• Mentor and coach newer teaching staff by modeling effective classroom practices and offering constructive feedback.
• Deliver KinderCare’s curriculum in ways that address the unique needs of each child.
• Establish and maintain a safe, warm, and engaging learning environment.
• Work in partnership with families to provide exceptional care and educational support.
• Contribute to center objectives including enrollment targets, accreditation requirements, and overall engagement.
• Foster positive relationships with families, colleagues, state licensing officials, community partners, and corporate teams.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Excellent customer service and organizational abilities, with strong multitasking skills.
• An active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or qualifications meeting NAEYC candidacy standards.
• Approved state trainer status (preferred).
• 2–3 years of early childhood education experience (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
• Meets state-required qualifications or willing to obtain them.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to complete required training.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors.
• Physically able to interact with children at their level and participate in active play.
• Proficient in English for communication with children and families.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly compensation: $19.38 – $24.84.
• Minnesota locations receive an additional $3.00 per hour classroom premium through the Minnesota Great Start Grant Compensation Support Program.
