Role and Responsibilities:

As a Food Service Teacher at Primrose School, you will prepare healthy, nutritious meals that fuel children’s growth and learning. You will ensure all food service operations align with safety standards and support children’s dietary needs while promoting healthy eating habits.

Prepare and serve meals and snacks in accordance with daily menus and nutritional guidelines.
Maintain awareness of allergies, food restrictions, and dietary needs of all children.
Ensure all food is safe, free of allergens, and prepared in a clean and sanitary environment.
Assist with ordering food, inventory management, and calculating quantities needed.
Promote healthy eating habits and engage children in learning about nutrition.
Collaborate with teachers and leadership to provide a supportive, safe, and joyful environment.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required.

Required Skills and Experience:

Knowledge of nutrition and safe food handling practices.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with staff and families.
Physical ability to lift and move kitchen supplies and equipment safely.
Previous experience in food service, catering, or childcare nutrition preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in food safety or sanitation (ServSafe or equivalent).
Experience preparing meals for children in an early childhood or school setting.
Understanding of dietary restrictions, allergies, and special nutrition needs.
Passion for supporting children’s health and well-being.
