Role and Responsibilities:

As a Special Education Instructor, you will deliver targeted instruction and support to students with individualized needs, ensuring their educational plans are effectively implemented. Your work will involve designing personalized learning experiences, collaborating with colleagues and families, and tracking student progress toward specific goals.

Provide instruction and support in alignment with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Create and execute lesson plans tailored to each student’s learning needs
Track, document, and evaluate student progress toward IEP objectives
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to enhance student outcomes
Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and progress reviews
Foster an inclusive classroom that promotes growth, independence, and self-confidence

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education endorsement
Experience supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred
Strong skills in collaboration, communication, and problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with co-teaching or collaborative instructional approaches
Knowledge of evidence-based teaching strategies for students with diverse learning needs
Familiarity with IEP development, monitoring, and progress reporting tools

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly rate of $50.00 for full-time work during the 2025-2026 school year
