Role and Responsibilities:

As a Reading Tutor, your primary responsibility is to guide learners through personalized reading instruction to strengthen literacy and comprehension skills. You will develop and implement engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs.

Create and deliver reading lessons aligned with each student's abilities and objectives.
Instruct students in comprehension techniques such as summarizing, predicting, and identifying key ideas.
Assist learners in expanding vocabulary, improving phonics, and enhancing reading fluency.
Monitor student progress and provide detailed, constructive feedback.
Adjust teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and reading challenges.
Communicate with students and their families to define learning goals and track development.
Foster a positive and motivating learning environment that builds confidence and curiosity.

Required Skills and Experience:

Strong knowledge of literacy development and reading instruction methods.
Experience tutoring or teaching reading across multiple grade levels or skill sets.
Ability to explain reading strategies in a clear, understandable manner.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for guiding and motivating students.
Organizational skills to plan lessons and track student progress effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education or background in English, Literacy Studies, or a related field.
Experience supporting students with reading difficulties or learning differences.
Relevant teaching or tutoring certifications in literacy or language arts.
