Role and Responsibilities:

You will design and deliver engaging art history instruction that builds students’ understanding of artistic movements, cultural context, and visual analysis. You will guide students to think critically about art and its impact while developing strong communication and analytical skills.

• Design and deliver standards-aligned art history lessons using diverse instructional strategies
• Teach students to analyze artworks using historical, cultural, and visual frameworks
• Create assessments to measure student progress and adjust instruction based on data
• Foster classroom discussions that build critical thinking and cultural awareness
• Integrate interdisciplinary connections between art history and other academic subjects
• Maintain an inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum and share best practices
• Track and report student performance and progress consistently
• Participate in professional development and continuous learning initiatives

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Education, or a related field
• Experience teaching at the high school level or working with secondary students
• Strong knowledge of global art history, artistic movements, and cultural contexts
• Ability to design engaging lesson plans and assessments
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Data-driven approach to instruction and student performance tracking
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools for instruction
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Art History, Education, or a related discipline
• Teaching certification or eligibility for certification
• Experience in charter schools or high-performing academic environments
• Familiarity with curriculum development and interdisciplinary teaching approaches
