Assistant Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in delivering high-quality educational experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence in young learners. You will assist with classroom preparation, supervise daily activities, help implement age-appropriate lesson plans, monitor children's progress, maintain a clean and organized learning environment, and promote a safe and inclusive atmosphere. The role also involves encouraging positive behavior, assisting with meals and daily routines, communicating effectively with families and team members, and ensuring all classroom activities comply with childcare regulations and organizational standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or educational setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of child development principles and classroom best practices.
• Ability to support educational activities and daily classroom routines.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with children.
• Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
• Understanding of childcare safety procedures and licensing requirements.
• Ability to actively engage children in both indoor and outdoor learning activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or related certification is a plus.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Previous experience assisting in preschool or childcare classrooms.
• Familiarity with early learning curriculum and developmental milestones.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
