Role and Responsibilities:
As a Middle School Science Teacher, you will inspire and engage students in grades 6–8, delivering comprehensive science instruction aligned with state standards. You will design interactive lessons, assess student progress, and create a dynamic classroom environment that encourages exploration and scientific inquiry.
- Develop and implement lesson plans in life sciences, physical sciences, and earth sciences that meet curriculum standards.
- Incorporate hands-on experiments, technology, and project-based learning to enhance student understanding.
- Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, projects, and formative evaluations.
- Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and accommodate students with varying abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and improve instructional strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity and inquiry.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with teaching strategies and science education trends.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license for middle school education.
- Proven experience teaching science at the middle school level preferred.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and implement project-based learning strategies.
- Proficiency with educational technology tools and digital learning platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education or Science-related field.
- Experience with inquiry-based learning and STEM integration.
- Familiarity with data-driven instruction and assessment analysis.
- Experience mentoring or coaching fellow educators.
