Role and Responsibilities:
As a Student Support Psychologist, your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive psychological services to support students, their families, and school staff. You will focus on assessment, intervention, and consultation to facilitate positive student development and enhance the overall learning environment.
- Perform psychological evaluations to identify students' strengths, needs, and learning preferences.
- Design and implement individualized intervention plans and behavioral support strategies to meet students' unique needs.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to address emotional, social, and behavioral challenges faced by students.
- Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, and families to develop strategies that promote student well-being and academic achievement.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) and CSE (Committee on Special Education) meetings, providing expert advice and recommendations.
- Track student progress and adjust interventions based on ongoing assessments and measurable outcomes.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to address school-wide mental health and behavioral issues.
- Offer crisis intervention services during emergencies involving students or staff.
- Maintain detailed records of assessments, interventions, and progress while adhering to confidentiality and district policies.
- Participate in continuous professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in school psychology.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A Doctoral or Master's degree in School Psychology or a related field.
- Active certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in the relevant state.
- Experience in conducting psychological assessments and providing counseling in educational settings.
- Thorough knowledge of special education regulations, IEP development, and educational best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse team environments.
- Proficiency in using relevant software for assessment, documentation, and communication purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in crisis intervention and managing behavioral support programs.
