We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Visually Impaired Teacher to work full-time, providing instruction and support to students with visual impairments.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Visually Impaired Teacher, you will design and deliver educational programs tailored to the needs and abilities of visually impaired students. You will create a positive classroom environment and implement effective instructional strategies to support learning outcomes.

Plan and implement instructional lessons adapted for visually impaired students
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
Employ effective instructional techniques for necessary curriculum adaptations
Write and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Modify instructional materials as needed to support student learning
Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
Collaborate with support personnel to enhance student progress
Perform additional duties as assigned in accordance with Board policies

Required Skills and Experience:

Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Teacher of Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired Endorsement
Knowledge of current teaching techniques for students with visual impairments
Ability to write and implement IEPs
Excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents
Ability to work cooperatively with support personnel

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with visually impaired students in educational settings
Familiarity with assistive technology for visually impaired students

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay starting at $45/hour
