Child Care Assistant Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Child Care Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the Lead Teacher to provide exceptional care and educational support for children in a positive learning environment. You will assist with implementing daily lesson plans, supervising classroom activities, encouraging children's creativity and curiosity, supporting daily routines such as meals and playtime, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom. Additional responsibilities include observing children's developmental progress, promoting positive behavior, assisting with learning activities, communicating effectively with families and colleagues, and ensuring compliance with childcare licensing regulations and organizational standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience working in a childcare center, daycare, preschool, or early childhood education environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate learning practices.
• Ability to assist with classroom instruction and daily childcare routines.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
• Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
• Understanding of childcare licensing guidelines and safety procedures.
• Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; ECE coursework is a plus.

• CDA or similar early childhood certification preferred.

• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to get certified.

• Previous experience in a preschool or childcare environment.

• Familiar with observing children and tracking developmental stages.

• Dedicated to continuous professional development in early childhood education.
