Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide differentiated instruction to students within the Resource Room setting based on individual learning needs.
- Evaluate and monitor student growth and develop targeted instructional interventions.
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and educational plans.
- Complete monthly Medicaid billing plans and participate in MET and IEPT meetings as appropriate.
- Collaborate and consult with educational professionals regarding student programs and instructional strategies.
- Adapt instructional materials and classroom activities according to student needs and learning goals.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with professional standards, district policy, and federal and state regulations.
- Prioritize and manage daily tasks, classroom resources, equipment, assessments, and supplies.
- Direct and supervise classroom paraprofessionals to support instructional delivery.
- Implement visual schedules, daily routines, and flexible behavioral interventions for students.
- Integrate technology effectively into instructional practices and curriculum delivery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by school administrators.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Autism Endorsement (SA) required.
- Highly qualified in accordance with No Child Left Behind guidelines.
- Experience providing instructional services to students identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Ability to write, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Knowledge of data-driven instruction and student progress monitoring practices.
- Experience with differentiated instruction, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), and individualized programming strategies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of staff and administration.
- Ability to successfully pass and provide proof of a satisfactory criminal background check in accordance with state standards.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and classroom management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating instructional technology into classroom learning environments.
- Experience supporting students through structured routines and behavioral intervention strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary educational teams.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is provided in accordance with the applicable salary schedule and contractual agreements. Additional benefits and employment terms are administered according to district policies and employment agreements.
