Assistant Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Primrose Schools, you will assist the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and enriching environment for preschool-aged children. You will support lesson plans, promote social-emotional development, and engage children in purposeful play to foster a love of learning.

• Assist in planning and implementing the approved curriculum for Pre-Kindergarten children in a fun and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support the Lead Teacher in daily classroom activities, ensuring children are engaged and learning.
• Promote positive behavior management and support children's social-emotional development.
• Encourage and guide children to explore new ideas, solve problems, and express their creativity.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress and development.
• Assist in preparing classroom materials, activities, and maintaining educational supplies.
• Support the lead teacher with assessments and documentation of child progress.
• Ensure all children’s safety and well-being are prioritized at all times.
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for working with young children and fostering their development.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate classroom activities and effective classroom management strategies.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and assist with child safety and care tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stay calm and patient in stressful situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Previous experience in a childcare or early education setting, preferably in a preschool or Pre-K classroom.
• Familiarity with early childhood curriculum and child development.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
