High School Instructor

This is a full-time, in-person teaching position at one of our 59 schools in NYC.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a High School Instructor at Success Academy, you will have an essential role in shaping the academic success and personal growth of your students. Your primary duties will include delivering an established curriculum, evaluating student progress, and maintaining a positive and motivating classroom atmosphere. Specific responsibilities include:

• Create and teach engaging, standards-based lessons that challenge students and support their academic development.
• Monitor student progress through assessments, assignments, and regular observations, offering constructive feedback to guide improvement.
• Establish and enforce effective classroom management techniques that foster a respectful and focused learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and staff to improve student outcomes and align efforts with school-wide goals.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and collaborating to ensure student success.
• Participate in professional development and coaching sessions to continuously enhance teaching abilities and leadership skills.

Required Skills and Experience:

• A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a rigorous academic field (e.g., biology, chemistry, history, mathematics, English, or engineering).
• Proven ability to manage a classroom of 20+ students, cultivating a conducive environment for learning.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Dedication to upholding high academic standards and fostering personal growth among students.
• A genuine passion for the subject matter and a commitment to continuous improvement as a teacher.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience using data-driven instructional methods and analyzing student performance to enhance learning outcomes.
• Familiarity with educational technologies and tools designed to enhance classroom instruction.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Starting salary of $65,000 annually, with opportunities for growth.
