Role and Responsibilities:

In the role of Special Needs Teacher, you will design and deliver customized instruction that supports both academic progress and social-emotional development. You will contribute to creating a well-structured and engaging classroom environment while partnering with a multidisciplinary team to ensure each student achieves meaningful outcomes.

Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s learning requirements
Design and deliver lessons using diverse teaching techniques to enhance student engagement
Establish and maintain a consistent classroom structure that encourages safety and positive behavior
Assess student progress and maintain detailed records, reports, and required documentation
Provide direction and support to classroom staff to ensure alignment with student learning plans

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree along with an active Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification
Minimum of three months’ experience working with individuals with disabilities
Knowledge of child development principles, differentiated teaching methods, and behavior management practices
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
Ability to lead classroom initiatives and collaborate effectively within a team setting

Preferred Qualifications:

Background working with students with autism or emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs
Familiarity with therapeutic strategies used within educational environments
Additional certifications or training in behavior intervention or social-emotional development
