Role and Responsibilities:

The Summer Camp Support Teacher assists lead teachers in delivering engaging summer camp activities, ensuring a safe, structured, and fun learning environment for children. You will support classroom operations, supervise children during activities, and help maintain a positive and inclusive camp experience. This role requires enthusiasm, patience, and a strong commitment to child development and safety.

• Support daily summer camp activities, lessons, and recreational programs for children.
• Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement.
• Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and creative learning experiences.
• Help manage classroom behavior using positive guidance and reinforcement techniques.
• Prepare learning materials, activity stations, and classroom setups as needed.
• Monitor student well-being and report concerns to lead teachers or supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and camp environment.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and teamwork.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or camp setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and classroom support practices.
• Ability to supervise groups of children in active and outdoor environments.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with lead teachers and staff.
• Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude in a dynamic learning environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and implement structured activity plans.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in early childhood education is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in summer camps, daycare, preschool, or after-school programs.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Training in early childhood education or child development.
• Familiarity with classroom management and behavior support strategies.
• Creative skills such as arts, crafts, music, or recreational activity planning.
