Role and Responsibilities:

As a Head Teacher, you will nurture children’s development, provide guidance to teaching staff, and maintain a safe, supportive classroom setting. You will collaborate with families, team members, and community partners to help every child reach their full potential.

Mentor and coach newer teaching staff by modeling effective classroom practices and offering constructive feedback.
Deliver KinderCare’s curriculum in ways that address the unique needs of each child.
Establish and maintain a safe, warm, and engaging learning environment.
Work in partnership with families to provide exceptional care and educational support.
Contribute to center objectives including enrollment targets, accreditation requirements, and overall engagement.
Foster positive relationships with families, colleagues, state licensing officials, community partners, and corporate teams.

Required Skills and Experience:

Excellent customer service and organizational abilities, with strong multitasking skills.
An active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or qualifications meeting NAEYC candidacy standards.
Approved state trainer status (preferred).
2–3 years of early childhood education experience (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
Meets state-required qualifications or willing to obtain them.
CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to complete required training.
Ability to lift at least 40 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors.
Physically able to interact with children at their level and participate in active play.
Proficient in English for communication with children and families.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly compensation: $19.38 – $24.84.
Minnesota locations receive an additional $3.00 per hour classroom premium through the Minnesota Great Start Grant Compensation Support Program.
