Scope of Work: Teach and supervise students during a teacher’s absence
Employment Type: Full-time, 30+ hours. Daily start and end times are flexible, depending on school needs and the applicant's availability. Possible hours: 7:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. or 3:30 pm
Experience Requirements:
Experience working with children; classroom teaching experience a plus
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Must be comfortable working in a culturally diverse environment and committed to embracing differences and valuing multiple perspectives
Education/Certification Requirements:
High School Degree
Clear CORI and MA fingerprinting
General Responsibilities:
Assist or lead in preparing for the academic, organizational, and social achievement of children, as well as, supporting their safety and well being.
Specific Responsibilities:
Educational Program & Student Services:
Deliver clear expectations for academic responsibilities and class routines
Give lessons to students in groups and to individual students as directed by Lead Teacher (LT) or Director
Supervise students on field trips
Recognize when students are not meeting academic or behavioral expectations and communicate this to LT or Director
Follow recommendations for students (when shared by LT or Director) with an IEP, 504 or neuropsych evaluation and insure that they have the supports in place to be successful
Support students with individual behavioral plans (when shared by LT or Director)
Supervise children regarding emergency practices such as fire drills
Constituent Relations:
Build productive relationships with parents when opportunities to interact with parents occur (dismissal, assemblies, etc.)
Administration:
Assist in daily attendance in FACTS (Student Information System)
Report all accidents/ incidents to LT or Director and complete accident forms as needed
Perform duties related to arrival/dismissal of school
Perform lunch/recess duties
