Childcare Assistant Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Childcare Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside the Lead Teacher to create a classroom environment filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. You will support children through engaging activities and meaningful daily experiences while helping maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming learning environment.

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and classroom activities
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
• Engage directly with children during learning activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor play
• Observe children’s development and share progress updates with the Lead Teacher
• Build positive relationships with families through daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports
• Support children’s emotional, social, and educational development
• Collaborate with teaching staff to create engaging and nurturing learning experiences

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to pass a background check
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Genuine care for children and commitment to their safety and well-being
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and families
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education
• Previous experience in a licensed childcare or early education center
• Experience supporting infant, toddler, or preschool classrooms
• Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning
