Job Description

EMIT Learning is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to work on our school campus in Southbridge, MA, for the upcoming school year 2025-26.

Job Description for Special Education Teacher

No. of positions: 3

SET needed in Southbridge, MA

Age Group: Elementary & High School

Start: ASAP

End date: June 2026 (Possible extension)

Total hours: 35 - 40 hours per week (will include 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Required License/Certification: Valid State Special Ed Certification

Duties

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.

Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and parents to create a supportive learning environment.

Adapt curriculum materials to meet the varying needs of students.

Utilize various teaching methods and strategies, including behavioral therapy and literacy education, to enhance student learning.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.

Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress towards IEP goals.

Skills

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

Experience in Deaf education or related fields.

Strong proofreading skills for creating clear educational materials.

Proficiency in curriculum development tailored for special needs education.

Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques to support student behavior management.

Experience in tutoring students with diverse learning needs.
