Role and Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Preschool Teacher at Primrose Schools, you will work closely with the lead teacher to create a positive and enriching classroom environment for preschool-aged children. You will assist in implementing the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum and help ensure that each child’s educational, social, and emotional needs are met.

Assist in planning and implementing lesson plans that promote development in language, literacy, science, and social-emotional skills.
Create a nurturing and safe classroom environment where children are encouraged to learn and explore.
Supervise and engage children during playtime, structured activities, and lessons.
Help manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques to ensure a supportive environment.
Work closely with the lead teacher to track children’s progress and assist in individualized care when necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring all materials and toys are sanitized regularly.
Communicate with parents regarding their child’s progress and any areas of concern.
Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Follow all Primrose policies and adhere to state regulations regarding childcare and safety.

Required Skills and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in a preschool, daycare, or early childhood education setting preferred, but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both children and adults.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds for handling children, toys, and classroom materials.
Must be able to pass a background check as required by local and state regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with preschool-aged children.
CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or working toward it is a plus.
Knowledge of early childhood development and basic child behavior management techniques.
First Aid and CPR certified, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
