Daycare Assistant Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Daycare Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in delivering high-quality childcare and educational experiences for children in a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You will assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate learning activities, supervise classroom routines, encourage positive behavior, monitor children's development, and help maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning space. Additional responsibilities include assisting with meals, playtime, learning centers, and daily care routines, collaborating with fellow educators, communicating effectively with families, and ensuring all classroom activities comply with childcare regulations and organizational standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with children in a childcare, daycare, preschool, or educational setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
• Ability to assist with classroom instruction and daily childcare routines.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for supporting children's growth and learning.
• Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
• Understanding of childcare safety procedures and licensing requirements.
• Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities while actively engaging with children.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or related early childhood certification.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Previous experience assisting in daycare or preschool classrooms.
• Familiarity with child observation techniques and developmental milestones.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in early childhood education.
